ORANGE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 6, 2004--St.Joseph Hospital, a 448-bed, not-for-profit Catholic hospital and one of Orange County's largest medical facilities, today announced the appointment of Martin J. Feldman, M.D., as chief of staff, effective Jan. 1, 2004.Feldman, an obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN) physician, formerly served as chairman and vice chairman of the St. Joseph Hospital OB/GYN department, and has practiced at the hospital for more than 27 years.

Feldman completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Southern California in 1965, and graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School in 1969.He conducted his internship at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, Mich. in 1970, and completed residencies in general surgery at University of California, Davis in 1972, and in obstetrics and gynecology at University of California, Irvine in 1975.Feldman also served as a captain and flight surgeon in the United States Air Force from 1972-1975.
Feldman is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is active in medical societies including the California Medical Association, Orange County Medical Association and Orange County OB/GYN Society.He is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and currently serves as chairman of the Orange County Section.He also has co-authored numerous medical publications.
