Gus Feissel

Gus Feissel's interest in photography as an art form began some ten years ago.Since retiring and moving to northern California in late 1998, he has devoted much of his time to photography.His main interest lies in capturing nature's beauty, as well as travel and people.

He greatly enjoys the challenge of photography in all its facets from the quest of identifying a good subject, to making a quality photograph with all its considerations of composition and exposure, to the demands of making superior archival prints through Photoshop which he uses only as a substitute for the traditional darkroom.

He shoots with a Canon 5D which he uses with Canon professional lenses, a Gitzo tripod and a Kirk BH1 ballhead.

He is the past president of the Santa Rosa Photographic Society, and is a member of the Photographic Society of America and of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals.He participates actively in competitions; his work has been published and has been shown and sold in exhibitions and galleries.He has won numerous awards.
