It's open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. GDS pays for certain items, such as aluminum cans, cardboard and newspapers, Farthing said.Christmas items probably won't apply to anything worthy of payment.

Still, Farthing encourages everyone to recycle."We always love to see more people bring in stuff," she said.
