Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, Islamic Affairs Minister Saleh Al-Asheikh, Head of the Presidency of the Two Holy Mosques Sheikh Saleh Al-Hosain, Higher Education Minister Khaled Al-Anqari and Haj Minister Fouad Farsy also attended the meeting.

Campaigns will be organized abroad to fully acquaint pilgrims, and visitors with the content of the new law, especially in the area of the quality and standard of the services and ways of retaining their rights in case the service companies don t fulfill their obligations and fail to provide them with the services mentioned in the contracts they signed with the companies, said Dr. Fouad Farsy, the Minister of Haj, while speaking to SPA in Riyadh.

Dr. Farsy also said that the MoH will grant licenses to new Umrah and Haj companies which meet government requirements.

In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency ( SPA ) following the meeting , Dr. Fouad Al Farsy , Minister of Information , quoted King Fahd as also praising the 'distinguished efforts' being exerted by Crown Prince Abdullah , reflecting the 'concern of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the interests of the Arab and Islamic issues and confirmation of the unified Arab stance on vital issues'

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques commented on the 'serious setback impeding the peace process in the Middle East caused by Israel's actions and threats' and Israel's refusal to comply with the various efforts of the world community to bring about peace in the region.

In this regard , King Fahd underscored the importance of unifying Arab efforts and ranks and called on the international community to shoulder its responsibility according to the relevant Nations resolutions.

"The sale will be made through an Initial Public Offering (IPO) with two-thirds of the shares sold only to Saudi citizens and the rest to the state-run Pension Department and the General Organization for Social Insurance," Information Minister Dr. Fouad Al Farsy told the official Saudi Press Agency.

The Council of Ministers meeting, chaired by Prince Abdullah, the regent, also announced dates for the liberalisation of the telecomms sector.Mobile phone services will be opened up first, in 2004, followed by land lines in 2008.
