Sue joined Chime Communications PLC in May 2003 in a new role as Chairman of the Heresy IMS Group.She is responsible for the development of Chime's network of entrepreneurial marketing services companies, which clients can assess individually or collectively.
Prior to joining Chime, Sue spent more years than she is prepared to admit in marketing, both on the client and agency sides of the business.
From 2001-2003 she was European Managing Director of Golin/Harris, an IPG owned PR group where she ran half a dozen businesses across Europe, developed an affiliate network, identified acquisition candidates and spear-headed a new business drive resulting in wins from B.A., T-Mobile, Samsung and Lego.
Most of Sue's client career has been spent in broadcasting.Firstly as Director of Corporate Communications for Thames Television plc (1990-3) which saw her launch UK Gold, and subsequently as Director of Marketing for the BBC (1993-2000).Credited with introducing marketing into the Corporation and building a division responsible for marketing strategy, planning and implementation across all the BBC's public service brands, she also oversaw the re-launch of Radio One and the launches of Radio 5 Live, BBC Online and the BBC's digital television channels.She also created and launched Proms in the Park.
Prior to the BBC her career encompassed advertising (Bates Dorland, CDP and WCRS) and f.m.c.g. (Northern Foods).
A Director of The Marketing Society since 1984 she was the first woman Chair in 1991/2 and remains a member of the Chairman's Council.
She was a Non-Executive Director of New Look plc from 1994 until 1996.
She has been a member of The Marketing Group of Great Britain for a number of years, and has been Chairman 1999/01 and remains a Council member.
She was voted the Advertising Woman of the Year in 1997, a WACL Woman of Achievement in 1998 and awarded The Marketing Society "Grand Prix" in 1998.
Sue is a member of Forum UK, RTS, WACL, IoD and is a Fellow of the RSA.
