    Jamie Farquhar, national manager for Scotland at the Confederation of Forest Industries is worried about the potential impact if it takes hold in woodland to a similar extent as it has in the south of England.

    Significant improvements to the forestry grant scheme have been secured and it is now time for applicants to take advantage", announced Jamie Farquhar, ConFor's national manager for Scotland . "Dust off those applications and get them in! he advised.

    Jamie advised that there is now no need for further delay, and with the other negotiated improvements to the system - the option to bypass the Statement of Intent, and the fast-tracking of non-contentious forestry schemes by delegated approval from FCS, all of which will be in place soon, and certainly in time for what would otherwise have been the November RPAC - members are urged to dust off their woodland creation schemes and get them through what should be a vastly quicker and simpler process of approval.
