The Academy is very grateful to the Hong Kong Government, who offered a lease grant for this land at Wong Chuk Hang, and The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, who generously pledged to donate $ 165 million towards the building cost, enabling us to commence construction in October last year. said Dr. David Fang, President of the HKAM.
The funds donated by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust have accounted for 80 % of the total building cost.
I am glad that with the Academy Headquarters, the HKAM can offer the most advanced facilities for organising, assessing and accrediting all medical specialist training in Hong Kong, as well as provide continuing medical education (CME).Advances in medicine nowadays have accelerated at such a pace that every practitioner has to continuously update his knowledge and skill in his specialized field. We believe CME is crucial to ensure that doctors are maintaining the highest possible standards of practice and continuing to develop professionally. further stated Dr. Fang.
The Hong Kong Jockey Club is an enthusiastic supporter of organisations that work to improve medical services for the people of Hong Kong.Over the past 10 years, the Club has donated more than $ 1.8 billion to various medical and health projects in Hong Kong.

We hope that by the time of the opening of the Academy's headquarters, Hong Kong will enter a new era of excellence of medical standards. concluded Dr. Fang.
