I have known Dr. Fang for some time as I work on the floor where all of his patients go post-op.I picked him because he does wonderful work and all of his patients really like him.Also, he has a good raport with the nurses which I really like.He did an excellent job and I would highly recommend him to anyone in the Phoenix area who is thinking about having WLS :-)

Dr. Fang is a very soft-spoken, capable surgeon.I researched him and found only positive information.His bedside manner was excellent and I will recommend him to others, however I have not seen or had any contact with Dr. Fang since the day of my surgery.I'm not sure if he takes care of his own aftercare patients or not.It appears that he leaves this to his Physician's assistants.When dealing with his staff, I always feel hurried and they appear very busy.In the informational seminar they skimmed over the risks.I really like their dietician, Janelle.She is friendly, approachable and returns phone calls/e-mails promptly.

Dr. Fang has a wonderful bedside manner.He answered all of my questions, even some that were totally off the wall.He made me feel completely comfortable going into this.After surgery he answered more questions for me.He reemphasized the time table for activities I am allowed to do.

I was very impressed with Dr Fang.He came in before I went to surgery and explained what will be happening to my husband and I and then talked to my family while I was in recovery.THe 2 nights I spent in the hospital he came and saw me both times.He was wonderful.His office staff was also very helpful.If I did it all over again, and yes I would do it again, I would definitely chose Dr Fang again.Besides, he has some really hot assistants that are just so sweet.

I was taken aback, initially that Dr. Fang's office was like a real live medical office and not a make shift weight loss facility.Upon meeting Dr. Fang and the resident in training, they both wore scrubs which I had not seen in the 4 previous 'facilities' I went to.It took me a total of five years to make yet another attempt at having surgery and finally, I felt like this was the last.Dr. Fang came across as genuine, compassionate and concerned about why I was making this decision.

First impression of Dr Fang was very good.I went in with a printed list of a dozen questions and Dr. Fang answered each fully.He explained how and why the Lap RNY surgery works.He explained the process clearly.It was clear to me that this man knows his business.

Daniel T. Fang, M.D. Bariatric Surgeon

Dr. Fang completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He graduated from the University of Maryland School of Medicine and completed his residency at Case Western Reserve University Hospitals in Ohio.

After medical school and residency, Dr. Fang established a practice in Utah where he performed hundreds of general surgeries and laparoscopic surgeries. He came to Arizona more than five years ago and joined a private physician practice that specializes in general surgery, endoscopy, and bariatric surgery including the laparoscopic gastric bypass and the laparoscopic adjustable banding. Dr. Fang serves as the Medical Director of the Bridges Centre for Surgical Weight Management at St. Luke's Medical Center and has been a part of the program for more than five years.

He currently serves as a clinical instructor for the Phoenix Integrated Surgical Residency, is a clinical assistant professor at the A. T. Still University - Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, and a clinical instructor at Midwestern University - Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine.

He is certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Surgery, and a member of the American Society of Bariatric Surgeons. Dr. Fang has been designated as a Center of Excellence surgeon by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
