NEW CHAIRPERSON FOR MMC: All decks have been cleared by Sandeep Falari to assume the post of the Chairperson of Mapusa Municipal Council on February 1.The post had fallen vacant on account of the resignation of former Chairperson Michael Carasco. (GT)

MAPUSA, Aug 20: About three weeks ago, Goa Environmental Solutions Director Mathew Pereira, who is also environmental consultant to Mapusa Municipal Council, informed then MMC chairperson Sandeep Falari and Chief Officer Jayant Tari that Lucindo Faria, a resident of Mapusa, was prepared to offer up some of his land at Shelpem to the MMC.

MAPUSA: After three earlier adjournments, Sandeep Falari, chairperson of Mapusa Municipal Council, was finally voted out by seven votes to five a special meeting convened on June 29. (GT)
