Kathryn Fahy

Kathryn Fahy is Research Associate in the Department of Management Learning and Leadership at Lancaster University Management School.She has undertaken research in the chemical manufacturing industry, the NHS, and the food manufacturing sector, on the management of change, the impact of new technologies, behaviour health and safety and corporate environmental response.She is currently completing doctoral research at Lancaster University on the corporate response to environmental sustainability pressures in the UK food manufacturing sector.

Kathryn is involved in a major new research programme on how organisations 'manage' learning and knowledge in 'product-service systems' in engineering and construction sectors.The KIM 'Grand Challenge - Immortal Information and Through-life Knowledge Management' project is a cross-disciplinary and multi-institutional research programme funded by the EPSRC and ESRC, with additional support from AIM.

Kathryn is interested in exploring further the theoretical and practical significance of approaches to thinking about learning that highlights the situated, relational and socially and materially distributed nature of organisational learning and knowledge.

Kathryn,s contribution to the KIM project is on Task 2.2 focusing on learning from product use in product-service systems.Kathryn is interested in approaches to thinking about learning that highlight the situated, relational and socially and materially distributed nature of organisational learning and knowledge.She is a research fellow of the UK,s Advanced Institute of Management (AIM) initiative.
