Jay Fagan Named Acting Dean of Temple's School of Social Administration
Jay Fagan, D.S.W., M.S.W., associate professor of social work in Temple University's School of Social Administration, has been named acting dean of the School, Temple President David Adamany has announced.

Fagan, who joined the faculty of the School of Social Administration in 1990, succeeds Curtis A. Leonard, who retired June 30 after serving as dean of the School since 1994.

Fagan earned his B.A. in psychology from Trinity College in 1973, his M.S.W. from the University of Pennsylvania's School of Social Work in 1977, and his doctoral degree from Columbia University's School of Social Work in 1988.
He has published more than 20 research papers on fathers and paternal involvement in parenting and child care settings in numerous professional journals.He is also the general editor of the scholarly journal Fathering: A Journal of Theory, Research, and Practice About Men as Fathers.
His experience as a social service professional includes working at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center and as a consultant to directors and teaching staff at four New York City Agency for Child Development day care programs.
