    Jack Ewing, Sr.Jack Ewing, Sr., 77 of La Marque passed away Sunday, June 16, 2002 at Mainland Medical Center in Texas City.Mr. Ewing was born January 6, 1925 in Biloxi, Mississippi to William and Marie Ewing.

    Jack was a resident of La Marque for forty-eight years formerly of Galveston and gave thirty-six years of service to the county as a chief deputy with the sheriff's department and then as the road and bridge superintendent for Galveston County Precinct 3.He was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church and served in the U. S. Army during World War II.Visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday, June 18, 2002 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Steve Hardwick officiating at the James Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque.Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday June 19, 2002 at the Queen of Peace Catholic Church in La Marque with Msgr.T.Joseph Culver officiating.Burial to follow service at Galveston Memorial Park.

    John F. Ewing John F. Ewing died October 21, 2002, at Life Care Center of Vista. Born April 17, 1920, in Lamar, Oklahoma, he resided in California since 1931, and in Oceanside for the past 15 years. He served his country in the U.S. Army in World War II and Korea. He is survived by his wife, Vera; daughter Cindy Ewing; daughters and sons-in-law Kathy and Bill Evans and Kimberly and Jerry Moore; son Kelly Ewing; son and daughter-in-law Kerry and Peggy Ewing; stepsons Blair and Brent Head; 12 grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters. A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, November 8, 2002, at 1:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church U.S.A., 2001 El Camino Real in Oceanside, Calif. The family suggests in lieu of flowers, a donation to your favorite charity. Private cremation is being handled by Cremation Services Inc. of Vista.
