Arthur Duval Evans , 69 , was a 47-year resident of Collier County and owner of Evans Oil Co.Formerly the youngest master barber in Florida , Evans worked as an sales agent for Standard Oil of Kentucky.Eventually , a 26-year-old Evans began running the oil company and selling gasoline to farmers and fishermen from a Chevron bulk plant.He owned the largest gas tank in Collier County , 30 , 000 gallons.

Evans , a Georgia native , moved Evans Oil Co. from Ochopee to First Avenue South in Naples in 1975 and began opening his three gas stations , which included convenience stores.Evans , who also opened a large plant at 3170 S. Horseshoe Drive , retired in April.

He is survived by his wife , Lois ; daughters Ruthann Scheller and Marie Weinberger ; and five grandchildren , Evans Duval Scheller , Maresa Lois Scheller , Richard Larkin Belmont , Jordan Evans Weinberger and Zaccary Lee Weinberger.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday.Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday.The funeral and visitation will be at Hodges Funeral Home , 3520 Tamiami Trail.In lieu of flowers , memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Naples.
