,Afro-Caribbean people have more strokes than white Europeans and they have them earlier in life.They are particularly prone to lacuna strokes, which happen in the small blood vessels deep in the brain, as well as haemorrhagic strokes,.

No one knows the reason for this, but Dr Evans suspects high blood pressure.
