    Violin

    Alice Evans was born in Perth and began to learn the violin at the age of five.At fifteen she became a student at the Western Australian Conservatorium of Music, from which she graduated with the degree of Bachelor of Music.

    She also spent periods of time in London in 1984 and 1987 studying with Carmel Kaine at the Royal Academy of Music. Alice became a core member of the Australian Chamber Orchestra in 1990 and on occasion has been acting Principal 2nd Violin.

    In 1997, Alice was awarded a Churchill Fellowship to spend a year in Europe studying Baroque Violin.During this time she studied in England, Holland and France and also played with various leading period ensembles including Florilegium, The Hanover Band and King's Consort.

    Alice also joined the leading French Baroque ensemble Les Talens Lyriques for their performances in the Sydney Festival in 1998 and Florilegium for their tour of Australia in 1999.

    Alice has played with most of the leading period instrument ensembles around Australia including The Philharmonia Choirs Orchestra (as a regular guest leader for their baroque performances) The Australian Bach Ensemble, Salut Baroque, Sirius, Sinfonia Australis, Orchestra of the Antipodes (Pinchgut Opera), Romanza and more recently Ironwood and The Fifth Continent, with which she performed as a leader at the inaugural Peninsula Summer Music Festival in January 2008.
