   Alexandria Evans (also known fondly as Alex) is 8 years old and attends Imperial Beach Elementary School. She has been a member of the Boys & Girls Club since the age of six and has participated in almost every sports league, recreation dance class, and activity offered at the Boys & Girls Club.
   
   Alex has really taken a leadership role at the Club during the past year as she continuously mentors younger Club members and has been a positive role model to her teammates. She strives to be better than her brother and other boys athletically, and always remains an inspiration to other girls at the Club.
   
   Alex Evans was selected as the Youth Of The Year because of her ambition, great personality, humor, and willingness to keep an open mind. She is a determined young lady who looks forward to new challenges and has high standards both academically and athletically. The staff at the Boys & Girls Club have no doubt that her future looks bright. She is capable of overcoming any obstacles or challenges that come her way by making positive choices.

   Alexandria Evans is the Youth of the Year from the Boys & Girls Club of Imperial Beach.
   
   Alexandria, better known to her friends as Alex, has been an active member of the Boys and Girls Club of San Diego for four years. She started attending the club because she would get bored at home after school. Alex loves playing sports, so at the club she can get involved with basketball, football, soccer, and track. She has also been able to attend all types of dance classes like tap, jazz, ballet, hip-hop, and gymnastics.
   
   The staff at the club nominated Alex for the Youth of the Year award because of her ambition, great personality, humor, and willingness to keep an open mind. She mentors younger club members and is a positive role model to her teammates. When Alex discovered that she received the award, she commented, "I felt like I accomplished all the things I set my mind to."
