Dr. Rosita Evangelista, PPSC president, said the student officers, including 41 police superintendents (equivalent to the rank of colonel) and nine police chief inspectors (major) assigned in different PNP units in the country, will undergo training on counter-terrorism, weapons of mass destruction, post blast investigation, hostage negotiation, crisis management, and other related international police issues and concerns.

Evangelista has earlier emphasized that the development of modernized police training programs based on world-class academic standards is a proven way to ensure international police cooperation.
She said that becoming globally competitive has become imperative and a cutting edge in combating crimes, aside from global standards which also means acquisition of crime-fighting tools and equipment as well as broad knowledge, skills and technical know-how to maximize its advantages for effective response against crime sophistication.
Evangelista also said that linkage program with foreign law enforcement agencies such as the FBI and the San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) is part of organizational development, capability build-up, and credibility enhancement.
"Further training through faculty exchange program, educational tour of students, attendance to international seminar and symposia of training staff and student-officers are highly imperative," she said.
She went on to say that such trainings abroad open the door for the Philippine law enforcement and policing to feel the global perspective of law enforcement and provide a wider opportunity of cooperation and mutual understanding.
International linkages, she said, are further designed to attain higher level of competency, credibility, integrity and firms up bonding with the international law enforcement community such as the FBI and the SFPD.
