Dr. Evangelist received her Bachelor of Science in Biology/Pre-Med from Georgia Southern University.She then went on to earn her Medical Doctorate from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia.She completed her pediatric residency at The University of Florida (Shands Hospital).

She is a Board Certified Diplomat of The American Academy of Pediatrics and serves on the Pediatric Faculty at Doctors Hospital and Medical Center.

Dr. Evangelist is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Academy of Pediatrics (Georgia Chapter), the Medical Association of Georgia and the Muscogee County Medical Society.She served as Chief of Pediatrics, Doctors Hospital, 2002-2004

She is married, to Brad Evangelist and has 3 sons, Joseph, Jacob and Abraham, and a daughter Arabella.
