HUNTINGTON -- Tamara Gale Eubanks was baptized at age 9. At 17, she received the gift of the Holy Ghost.
She has served with several music and ministry groups at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, and works as a co-director of the congregation's music program with Marie Murphy, the pastor's wife.
Now, at 35, the Kimball, W.Va., native has taken the next big step -- she'll preach her first sermon this afternoon.
"For several years, the Lord has been using me in various ways of ministry," says Eubanks, who is a career transition specialist for the Charleston Job Corps. "I felt like I was just another servant. But most recently, after going through some rough times, God told me he wanted me to minister to others about how I overcame those obstacles. He clearly showed me in a vision what I am supposed to do."

Eubanks became a member of Calvary church while attending Marshall University, where she received a bachelor of business administration degree in business systems in 1989.
The Rev. Franklin Murphy Sr., Calvary's pastor, is delighted about Eubanks' calling.

Eubanks acknowledged her call in November.
