Susan Eubanks, R.N., is the director of the Critical Care Unit at FMC.Her nominators cited her open-door policy and willingness to work on the unit when she is needed - in fact, she wears scrubs to work and blends in with the rest of the staff despite her management role.Her staff explains that she has created a happier, healthier work environment in which nurses want to work.Her efforts to be cost-effective without compromising patient care were noted."Susan leads her staff by example; she does not manage them," said Lisa Harrington, R.N., unit-based educator, CCU.

Susan Eubanks has been named the interim vice president of Nursing Services.Eubanks has been employed at FMC since 1999 and has served as Nursing Resources director, and most recently, as director of the Intensive Care units.Before joining FMC, Eubanks was the nurse manager for several units at Barrow's Neurological Institute in Phoenix.Eubanks received her nursing education from Phoenix College and is currently enrolled in the master's of science nursing program at Graceland University.
