   Glenn Eubanks is a 30-year veteran of the banking industry. He joined SouthTrust in 1983 as head of Commercial Real Estate Lending. He was named Executive Vice President in 1990. His responsibilities later expanded to include mortgage lending, corporate lending and in August 1999 was named Division President of the Corporate and Enterprise Banking Division. In 2002 Eubanks was named President of SouthTrust Bank with responsibility for the Corporate, General Bank and Capital Management divisions. In April 2003 he was promoted to President and Chief Operating Officer with responsibility for all day-to-day operations and was elected to the board of directors of the bank. Prior to SouthTrust, Glenn managed commercial mortgage lending for Sovran Mortgage Corporation in Richmond, Va., and for First and Mid South Mortgage in Nashville, Tenn. He began his career out of college in Atlanta, Ga., in commercial real estate for Metropolitan Life. Eubanks was born March 31, 1948, in Gadsden, Ala. He graduated from the University of Alabama in 1970 with a bachelor of science degree in Finance. He is actively involved in the United Way of Central Alabama, Alexis de Tocqueville Society Cabinet, the 2003 American Cancer Society Extravaganza, the American Heart Association, the Birmingham Zoo Capital Campaign, the University of Alabama's C&BA Board of Visitors, the University of Alabama's C&BA AREREC Board of Trustee's, Leadership Birmingham (class of 1997). He is a member of Mountain Brook Baptist Church where he serves as a Deacon and is a member of Mountain Brook Club.
