Brad Ettleman, assistant director of marketing for the National Western Stock Show, said using AgTown to revamp its Web presence has paid off. The National Western's Web site got 200,000 hits in 2000. After AgTown redeveloped it, the site registered more than 6 million hits from mid-September to the end of January 2002, Ettleman said.
"I give them a lot of credit for the success of the Web site," Ettleman said. "Their ability to understand agriculture and what we're trying to do has made it into something that's become very profitable for us." Ettleman said providing the Stock Show premium books in an online downloadable format has saved more than $10,000 annually in paper, printing, mailing and labor costs.
Just having information available online has also reduced the overhead costs involved with fielding hundreds of thousands of telephone calls the Stock Show used to receive each year. "We're extremely pleased with AgTown," Ettleman said.
