  EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn., July 13, 2004 /PRNewswire/ -- CIGNA Behavioral Health (CBH) announced today that it has appointed Philip Eswein to the position of national sales director.In this position, Eswein will be responsible for large group and national account sales, health plan sales and new business development in the western region for CBH."We are pleased that Phil will play a leading sales role with CBH.In this position, he will help us expand our offering to companies and health plans in the West and help ensure that our managed behavioral health benefits strategically fit each organization we serve," states Gidget Peddie, vice president, national sales and distribution for CBH.Eswein has an extensive background in managed behavioral health care and employee assistance program (EAP) services.He has held a variety of sales and account management positions for several leading companies, including Magellan and has worked closely with brokers, consultants and employers to grow middle market and large group business.Eswein holds a bachelor's degree from Colorado State University and a master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh.He is also a certified employee assistance professional (CEAP).He will be based out of Glendale, California.

  Phil has been an active member of EAPA-LA for over 10 years.He currently serves as the Membership Committee Chair, CEAP Advisement Coordinator and President Elect.A Native of Pittsburgh, PA, Phil received his BA in Social Work from Colorado State University and his MSW from the University of Pittsburgh, where he obtained a certification in Industrial Social Work.
  
  Phil began his career as a hospital trauma social worker, later to become an internal EAP for the City of Pittsburgh, an EAP Manager for several external national EAP companies and Sales Director for Magellan and CIGNA Behavioral Health.Currently, Phil works as Vice President of Business Development for Primary and Multi-Specialty Clinics of Anaheim.He resides in Long Beach, CA where he enjoys volleyball, football, home improvement projects and traveling.
