   Maria Esther holds a Master's degree in the area of "Gender, Sexuality and Reproductive Health" from the Peruvian Cayetano Heredia University. As part of the International Human Rights Network, Maria has been awarded a "10 years of contribution to the women's movement in the region" award by the FDIM. Through her work at CLADEM, FDIM, Fempress, Noticias Aliadas, and NOVIB, she has contributed to promoting women's human rights and women's reproductive and sexual rights. Maria Esther has been the Grupo Latino Coordinator for AWID since 2001 and lives in Lima, Peru.

   Shamillah Wilson has gained extensive networking, coordination and communication experience from her time at the African Gender Institute at the University of Cape Town (UCT). After seven years at UCT, she joined the Commission on Gender Equality (CGE) in South Africa for a short contract period as Provincial Manager with responsibility for public education and networking among other things. From the CGE she joined the Speakers' Forum of South African Legislatures. She holds a BA degree from the University of Cape Town and part of her research included a focus on Muslim Women's Social Reality.
