Esther is a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church. Her many contributions, caring ways and gracious attributes are why she is being honored as a sweetheart this year. She and her husband have spent many years traveling the roads of New Mexico to minister to the needs of the people. Esther helps take care of the elderly by taking them to the store, shopping, etc. She is truly a blessing. Eddie Minter Eddie came to Carlsbad with her husband, the late Toy Minter, in 1941 at the time of the 'Big Flood.' She has one daughter, Neva Nell Crocket of Carlsbad; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. She is retired from the Carlsbad Caverns National Park where she was supervisor over the janitorial staff. She is a member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church where she was past treasurer, a member of the choir and taught youth Sunday School. She loves to crochet, knit, fish and work in her yard and garden. She is a ray of sunshine and inspiration. -
