------------------------------ LAST WEEK The President of Rotary International shares the Stage with Wilson Smith Glenn Estes, President of Rotary International, and his wife Mary, were in Jacksonville for lunch at the Downtown Rotary Club, where he first joined Rotary in 1960. President Glenn touched on several important themes. Membership building and retention for clubs is very important to him and he urged clubs to work on keeping members through participation and involvement. Typically clubs lose 60% of their new members in the first three years. President Glenn urged Rotarians to reverse the trend and substantially lower that percentage by making new members feel they are involved in the club. He wants to see the completion of the Polio Plus campaign. Rotary and Rotarians have invested over $600 million in the effort.
