    Harps Food's Executive Vice President Kim Eskew said the deal is expected to close in mid-December. He declined to release the purchase price.

    Harps is also buying six Wallace & Owens stores in Missouri.

    Eskew said Harps isn't planning to lay off any workers at the grocery stores. But eventually the stores will be remained Harps.

    "Wallace & Owens has been around since 1949 and have an excellent reputation in every community where these stores are located," Eskew said.

    Kim Eskew, president of Harps Food Stores, said all five of his Springdale stores and two of his four Fayetteville stores were without power mid-Thursday. He said employees were being told to toss out any frozen products that had thawed.

    "We're going to lose hundreds of thousands of dollars," Eskew said.

    During the storm, he said refrigerator trucks and generators were brought to some stores to keep coolers going or product frozen. He added that some freezers never got above 10 degrees.

    "We've done our best," he said.
