Marie Esther Erickson

Born in Clifton, N.J., on July 5, 1913, Marie Esther Erickson accompanied her mother to the home of her grandparents in Sweden when she was 6 years old.They remained there until 1923 when they returned to live in Chicago.Marie was baptized in Sandviken as a child.Having learned Swedish at an early age, Marie continued to speak and correspond in the language throughout her life.

Marie and Walter Evans met when she was in business school.They were married in 1939 and lived in Houston and Los Angeles before settling in Dallas where Marie lived for more than 50 years.

An active member of Central Lutheran, Marie was a member of the Dorcas Circle and formerly sang in the choir.She devoted numerous hours to the Cover Girls, the group that makes quilts for a number of worthy projects.
