Bit-Wizards co-founder Louis Erickson delivers seminar on Developing Windows Applications with the Microsoft .NET Framework at the Gulf Coast IT Summit & Exposition (http://www.ITGulfCoast.com) on October 17, 2001. (See Article: Bit-Wizards Showcases at Gulf Coast IT Summit & Exposition) Louis, despite recovering from a wicked bout of laryngitis, delivered an interesting and technically provocative seminar on Microsoft's new .NET Technologies.Numerous Software Developers, Corporate Managers, and IT Professionals attended the seminar.
Louis's presentation introduced attendees to Microsoft's new .NET Technologies and more specifically Microsoft Visual Studio.NET.The presentation introduced attendees to the .NET Framework and the Common Language Runtime CLR.It then dove in with a live demonstration to show how to leverage the power of Microsoft Visual Studio.NET to build an application in the Visual Basic programming language and the C# language.While attendees watched, Louis coded a sample app in both C# and Visual Basic to demonstrate the key tenants of this new technology.This seminar showed developers who wish to leverage their existing Visual Basic skills, how to apply them in .NET.Louis additionally outlined the changes to the Visual Basic language in the .NET Framework.
