Mold and air quality issues at District 281's 34-year-old Education Service Center (ESC) in New Hope necessitated renovations that led to relocation of the building's 125 employees for a time.After residents near Olson School in Golden Valley opposed the office's move to their neighborhood, district officials settled temporarily at the former Robbinsdale Junior High School.

Forest Elementary School in Crystal was closed because of air quality issues; its students were relocated to Olson School in Golden Valley for the next two years.
