Donald (Tex) Erickson, 81, of Montgomery, died at Mala Strana Health Care Center in New Prague, on Monday, Aug. 6.He was a World War II veteran, and was formerly employed at several businesses in Jordan.
Born in Minneapolis, on Dec. 29, 1919, Donald was a son of August and Flora (Crighton) Erickson.He graduated from Jordan High School in 1939.He served with the U. S. Navy during World War II, and was stationed at Pensacola, FL.
Donald was employed at various times at the Schutz-Hilgers Brewery in Jordan, at R.E.A., as a parts man with Engfer Chevrolet and at Simones Hardware & Plumbing.He was also a block layer at one time, and a custodian at the Jordan Schools, and he was employed with Thermo King in Bloomington, from 1966 until 1979.
Donald was also active in sports, as a former shortstop with the Jordan Brewers Baseball team, from the 1940s until the mid-1960s, and as manager in 1963 and 1964.
Donald Erickson and Delores Dietz were married at Immanuel Methodist Church in Jordan, on Jan. 2, 1954.

Donald Erickson is survived by his wife, Delores Erickson; a son, Dwight (and Olga) Erickson, Oakdale; a brother, William Erickson, Hastings; and a sister, Madelyn Gardner, Plymouth.
