David Erdos
David Erdos, Junior Research Fellow in Law, works principally on the origins and impact of Bills of Rights in the Westminster World (UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand), research that he is currently writing up as a book to be published by OUP.
Previously, he completed his PhD at Princeton University, and held a postdoctoral position at the University of York.
During his time at Balliol and at the Centre for Socio-Legal Studies in Oxford, Erdos will be developing research that looks more broadly at the nature of constitutional reform in the UK and other Westminster Democracies.
He comments: "I am particularly interested in examining how developments at the European level have, and are, impacting upon the UK constitution and also on how conflicts between 'rights' - such as freedom of expression, non-discrimination and privacy - are being and should be managed."
On being a JRF, he comments: "Balliol has provided excellent support for my work since I have arrived, and provides a great attachment given its collegiality and long history of both involvement in political and social affairs and its international links."
