    Beca Transportation, led by Section Manager Matt Ensor, received the Diversity Award at New Zealand's 2007 Equal Employment Opportunities Awards.

    "We were also noticing a poor work/life balance and lower than typical satisfaction levels amongst these staff, often due to living arrangements and differences in cultural expectations.

    "It was decided in mid-2003 that if Beca Transportation were to be a workplace that encouraged and supported cultural diversity we would have to be far more innovative in how we worked with, and supported, our new employees."

    As the new manager, Matt instigated series of initiatives to create a workplace and team environment where Beca would be able to claim the title of the ‘employer of choice for immigrating traffic engineers'.
