Raymond was appointed Fletcher Police Chief in June 2005 to replace former Chief Antoine Ensley, who left a month before to accept an administrative job in Norfolk, Va. Ensley, a former officer in Charlotte, had served only 15 months in Fletcher.
Raymond joined the Fletcher Police Department as a patrol officer in October 2004 and was promoted to detective in January 2005.
Before coming to Fletcher, he worked as a patrol officer and detective for the Kill Devil Hills and Asheville police departments, an investigator for the Buncombe County District Attorney's office and an investigator and ranger for the Biltmore Co.
