Evelyn was born Sept. 14, 1917, in Coal Valley, to Henry and Nellie (Kraklow) Nightingale.

Evelyn retired from Moline School District after 22 years.She then went to work for Trinity Lutheran Church as the church secretary for 12 years.Evelyn is a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

She is the proud mother of five sons and spouses, Larry and Sandy, Randy and Bonnie, Stan and Julie and Den and Linda, all of Coal Valley.Her son, Steve, passed away in 1993.She has 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
