This year we honor Eileen Ekstract and pay special tribute to Cantor Debra Stein on her 20th anniversary at The Jewish Center of the Hamptons.
Eileen Jaffe Ekstract In this month's Bulletin, we want to tell you about Eileen Jaffe Ekstract and next month we'll write a bit about our Cantor.
Born in New York City, Eileen received a B.S. in journalism from Boston University.She joined the staff of The Hearst Corporation's Cosmopolitan magazine as an assistant to Editor-in-chief Helen Gurley Brown.Following this, she entered the financial field serving as a registered stockbroker with EF Hutton and, later, Bear Sterns.Combining her interests in both finance and fashion Eileen joined The Metropolitan Museum of Art in N. Y. as a docent for The Costume Institute in 1990.She has been an active participant and leader in Hamptons and New York City charitable organizations for decades.She currently serves as a member of the board of directors for The Retreat.A member of the Water Mill Community Board, she is also a board member of MATA, a NY based organization supporting young music composers.She serves as Vice President of Cottages & Gardens Publications LLC, publishers of Hamptons Cottages & Gardens and Palm Beach Cottages & Gardens.Eileen and her husband Richard reside in the Hamptons and New York City.
