    Professor Anders Ekbom

Anders Ekbom, professor of epidemiology at the Karolinska Institute, has evaluated the Norwegian study of pancreas cancer. He stated as follows in Resumé (March 2005):

"This is a weak and poorly conducted study, and the conclusions drawn are completely incorrect. In this study, it is impossible to distinguish between the effects of smoking and the use of snus among these men."

"Of the men studied, there were only three snus users who had not smoked and who contracted pancreas cancer. This is far too little data.Among those who only used snus, the study actually showed a lower proportion of cancer cases of this type than among the general population," says Anders Ekbom.
