Doris M. Eivins
Doris M. Eivins, 70, of Waterloo, died Thursday, December 18, 2003 at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home.Doris was born April 25, 1933, in Waterloo, the daughter of George and Florence I. (Peake) Allman.She grew up in Waterloo and graduated from East High School in 1951.
Doris worked as a Case Worker for the Iowa Department of Human Services for over twenty years, retiring in 1985.
Doris was a loving and caring person.Her family was most important to her, their time together and meals shared.She was a cook, a gardener, a musician (playing piano by ear using the black keys), and a friend to many.Her relationship with her Lord was important as well, evidenced by her daily routine of prayer, her life, and her service to others.She was an active member of the Central Christian Church family, a bell ringer, former Deaconess, and volunteer for many activities.
Doris is survived by her son John (Robbin) Eivins of Williamsburg; daughter Sue (Bret) Trasamar of Waterloo; five grandchildren, Kris (Donnie) Dietzenbach, Dan Eivins, Ashley Eivins, Lindsey Lown, and Andy Lown; a great grandson Nicholas Dietzenbach; sister Berneice Finger of Chanhassen, MN; sister Frances Swicegood of Woodbury, MN; and sister Mary Finger of Manchester.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Elmer Allman
