Excited the best was yet to come, in 1994 Shemas opened his third business, Client Solutions.
Shemas commanded Client Solutions through the Millennium bug and the Internet Revolution finally selling his shareholding to Horizon Technology Group in 2001 for 10 Million pounds. "I've experienced recession and predicted the 2001 collapse, choosing to sell to Horizon while the money was high and market buoyant," explains Eivers.
Remaining as the Managing Director at Client Solutions, Eivers experienced the tech-downturn with minimal impact to either company turnover or profit. Having grown the company at a compound growth rate of 37% annually since 1997, he is now focussed on turning the business into a key division at the Horizon Group.
Internally Client Solutions operates four divisions, Application Development, Data Warehousing, SAP technologies and Business Service Management. "Client Solutions is a service based business, offering experience and quality service levels not found elsewhere. It's astonishing that software developers write multi-million dollar applications and walk away. CS supports both its own and 3rd party software directly and remotely using secure dial-up and VPN. We've won hundreds of thousands of Euros business, simply with a stronger service offering," says Shemas.
During his tenure at Client Solutions Shemas also identified a need to incubate a Southern technology centre and in 1999 he joined private business and public sector partners, including the Cork Business Innovation Centre and Enterprise Ireland to fund and establish the National Software Centre in Cork, where he is chairman. Keen to promote Cork as a European technical hot spot he also helped found IT@Cork.
A Taurus, Shemas lives his sign, preferring a bullish approach to business. A lot's changed since Eivers opened his first tech firm but he explains "software isn't changing as fast as people make out.

says Eivers.
"150% of average is better than or equal to genius," say Shemas explaining that in his experience genius or visionaries frequently become complacent.
Asked about the future Shemas laughs, explaining if he knew what was to come he'd already be doing it. "Client Solutions doesn't drive clients we service them, we aren't visionaries. Pioneering can cost money and my business is about long term profitable growth," says Eivers.
Shemas spots industry challenges and opportunities, "Skills shortage and graduate quality is an emerging issue. In 2001 college applications fell and never rallied. Five years later the impact of fewer candidates, and I believe poorer skills is having a impact," says Eivers.
He continues, "Future success is based on maintaining growth and cost control. Customer service is paramount and bad cost management effects customers. Poor judgement increases cost and price that eventually has to be covered by paying customers or you go bust."
Mentored by fellow Irish entrepreneur Paul Hourican of PFH (who recently bought Lionbridge for 30 Million), his influencers include Michael O'Leary, who Shemas explains has a ruthless focus on service, albeit not his personal choice; and Richard Branson, for personality.
...
"Keep costs low and you will never have to lose staff," says Shemas finishing with his equation for becoming a Top Dog, "Reputation - BULL + Techie Managers = DIFFERENTATION = SUCCESS!"

Open Note to Shemas Eivers
TO ECHO TOM Raftery and further inform Shemas Eivers, I want to note that blogs enhance search engine standing for people, products and programmes. Actually, a well-written blog item resonates its main points and earns commentary from other bloggers, effectively boosting the standing of the original point. This little commentary is an open note to Shemas Eivers, the managing director of Client Solutions, who might have doubted the impact that blogs have. Look up Shemas on Google and see if you can find first-person commentary among the top 10 results. When I looked, the top results came from people talking about Shemas and the bloggers had the strongest voices.
The parent company's press release about Shemas is well down in the search engine results.
