On the eve of the National Outdoor Championships, Texas A&M archery head coach Kathy Eissinger was notified that A&M Athletic Director Bill Byrne has plans to cut archery from its varsity status unless the team can find private funding.

The end of competition on Sunday marked the final appearance of Kathy Eissinger as the Texas A&M women's archery coach. Eissinger has been A&M's only head coach in each of the Aggies' five varsity seasons. She is moving to Utah to join her husband, who has been living there for the past year-and-a-half.
