   Current DCT Board President Gerald (Jerry) Eissinger understands industry and would like to see the cooperative grow and thrive into the 21st Century. Seeking his eight term, Gerald represents the Medina Exchange. The last 21 years of serving on the cooperative board has been both rewarding and full of surprises for Gerald. "We have seen tremendous growth since I first took my seat on the board in 1979," he said. "At that time I don't think anyone had any concept of what the future would hold." He added what made Dakota Central successful in the past may not be what makes it successful in the future and he supports the growth it has seen and its continued growth. Gerald describes a cooperative board as a group of people who work together. "A director is so many things including being a visionary who is creative, focused and above all dedicated," he said. And while the challenges the telephone industry faces are many including competition, technological advances and customer demands and needs, Gerald looks forward to what the future may bring to the cooperative and its customers. Born and raised on the family farm northeast of Medina, he and his wife, Sandra, do some farming with the remainder being leased out. The Eissingers have seven children and 13 grandchildren.
