Keith Eisle, Multnomah Educational Service District Information Technology Director, thanked MHCRC, staff, Comcast, and ComNet. Eisle said the MESD was faced with potentially limiting the district,s network services last year due to budget reductions. Eisle said the MESD, thanks to the I-Net/IRNE interconnect and MHCRC grant funds, is now in a position to increase bandwidth for a cost less than what it was paying for its service a year ago. Eisle said district managers and educators are starting to envision and implement projects and use the technology. For example, server consolidations, resource utilization, service aggregation, and voice over IP are some of the benefits now being realized. Eisle said the I-Net/IRNE service has already made a tremendous positive impact on students and services provided. Eisle thanked Eric Harrison, MESD, for his integral part in the process.
