    Julie Nixon Eisenhower

    Julie Nixon Eisenhower is an author, editor and public speaker who has lectured extensively throughout the Unites States on the Presidency, Women in Politics, the Cold War, Leadership, and Life in the White House.

    As Assistant Managing Editor of the Saturday Evening Post from 1963-75, she helped establish a book division for the Indianapolis-based parent company, the Curtis Publishing Company and edited a series of anthologies and children's books.Since that time, she has written three books, including the best-seller Pat Nixon: the untold story.

    Julie Eisenhower is also a lifelong volunteer.During the Nixon Administration, her efforts on behalf of children, the elderly and the environment led her to be voted four times by Good Housekeeping magazine readers one of the Ten Most Admired Women in America.Throughout the eighties, she was an advocate for special needs children, serving on the boards of the National Adoption Center, Philadelphia's Please Touch Museum for Children, and the Pearl S. Buck Foundation which serves Amerasain children in the Far East.In 1991, she was named a Distinguished Daughter of Pennsylvania for her community service.

    Currently, Julie Eisenhower is on the boards of the Center for Judaic Studies at the University of Pennsylvania, The China Institute, Eisenhower Medical Center, the Richard Nixon Library and Birthplace Foundation, and serves on the Advisory Board of the Nixon Center, an independent foreign policy think tank.Most of her volunteer efforts since 1989, however, have been devoted to Jobs for America's Graduates, a nationwide organization in 26 states which aides at-risk youth graduate from high school and transition into their first job.She now serves as Vice Chair of the organization and travels widely as an advocate.

    In 2002, President Bush named Julie Eisenhower Chair of the President's Commission on White House Fellowships.The Mission of the program is to foster leadership in our nation's most exceptional young adults.

    Julie Eisenhower received a B.A. from Smith College and a M.A. from the Catholic University of America.
