The Waltham company said Eisenberg will focus on three particular business functions -- partnerships, marketing and promotions -- in an attempt to expand the firm's market share among enterprise customers.

Prior to joining Colubris, Eisenberg founded and was the CEO at NaviSite Inc., an outsourced manager of Web software for businesses.Andover-based NaviSite (Nasdaq: NAVI) went public in 1999, a move that eventually triggered a class-action lawsuit due to alleged misrepresentations and false statements in the company's pre-IPO prospectus.

That case is ongoing, according to regulatory filings.

Eisenberg has also been an "entrepreneur-in-residence" at Alta Communications, a private equity firm in Boston.

Meanwhile, Colubris announced Eisenberg has already added to his executive staff, hiring Chris Koeneman, another technology-industry veteran, to head the company's sales group.
    ...
Eisenberg also promoted Roger Sands, who previously headed a portion of Colubris' product-development efforts, to vice president of engineering.
