When used in conjunction with Sonic Chain's patent-pending Internet-based transaction platform, the scanner can significantly cut costs, says Bill Eisele, vice president of sales at Sonic Chain.

'The estimates on cost to create and transmit a purchase order are $75 to $100 per order,' he notes. 'We can cut that number in half.'

After the code has been scanned, the order is transmitted electronically to the product's supplier.When the supplier receives the order, confirmation is sent to the buyer electronically.Meanwhile, the supplier has initiated shipment.Order transmission is 'virtually instantaneous,' Eisele says.

Mr. Eisele has more than 15 years experience in sales, marketing, and product and service development.Prior to joining Sonic Chain, Mr. Eisele spent five years with GE Medical Systems in various field sales and management positions.Bill's previous experience includes sales, marketing, and management positions at National Medical Diagnostics, Ciba Corning and Amoco Corporation.Mr. Eisele holds an MBA from Case Western Reserve University as well as a BE in Biochemical Engineering and a BA in Chemistry and Engineering Physics from Dartmouth College.
