A member of the Furman faculty since 1977, Einstein is the chair of the psychology department. He is a graduate of Lafayette College, and earned both his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Colorado. The author of more than 60 articles on memory, Einstein has also received numerous grants from such organizations as the National Institute on Aging, the National Science Foundation and NASA. He recently received the Outstanding Professional Paper Award from the Southeastern Psychological Association. Einstein, a past winner of Furman's Meritorious Teaching Award, is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association and has served on the editorial boards of Memory and Cognition and the Journal of Experimental Psychology: Learning, Memory and Cognition. He is co-author of Prospective Memory: Theory and Applications and Memory Fitness: A Guide for Successful Aging.
