   Robert C. Eiler will be the keynote speaker for the Nov. 11 program at the Veterans War Memorial that will be held immediately following the parade.

   Eiler of Cresent has been a life member of the VFW Robert W. Young Post 8805.
   
   He has served three terms as commander and was awarded "all-state commander" status twice and is a registered post service officer.
   
   He is a past commander of District 25 and serves as the district judge advocate and is a member of Golden Triangle Pup Tent No. 99 M.O.C. and a life member of the VFW National Home and Scotland School for Veterans Children.
   
   Eiler enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1961 and served in Laos and Vietnam as an advisor.
   
   He was awarded the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal for service in Vietnam, Bronze Star, Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, Combat Infantry Badge, Air Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters and Parachutist Badge.

   Robert C. Eiler, of Crescent, was installed as senior vice commander of the Pennsylvania Department of Veterans of Foreign Wars at a convention in Philadelphia.
   
   He is the recipient of the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Combat Infantry Badge, Air Medal with Three Oak Leaf Clusters and the Parachutist Badge.
   
   Eiler has served on a variety of VFW committees, including programs focusing on POW-MIA and homeless veterans' issues. He is a life member of VFW Robert W. Young Post 885, where he has served as post commander three times, twice as an all-state commander.
