At their September meeting the Board of Trustees agreed to honor four members of our congregation with the designation of Honorary Life Member: Jean Eike, Lila Gibson, and Bill and Kaye Whitener.

Jean Eike was born in 1920 in Sayre, Pennsylvania, where she went to school and attended the Episcopal Church. She married and had four children. She moved to Sacramento in the early 1950s and received her BA from Sacramento State College. She has been a member of our church since 1958 (a year before our present building was built) and over the years she taught Sunday school, helped with our Bazaar, and was an active member of the Women's Alliance. Since her stroke about five years ago, Jean uses a wheelchair and seldom leaves her home. She would love hearing from her fellow UUs.
