   Tom Eifler Jr., president of financial planning firm Eifler Group, said the needs and preferred investments of clients change as they age and their incomes rise.
   
   "People in their 20s have a lot more debt than they'd like," Eifler said, because their income isn't strong yet. Many still have student loans from college, credit-card debt and a car loan. "We sit down and tailor how they can save as well as paying that debt down."
   
   Focusing on education
   
   In their 30s, Eifler said, people begin to think about paying for their children's education. Even a private secondary school is an expensive option that demands planning ahead, Eifler said.
