Jon Eifler Jonathan Eifler has worked with the Lafayette Jefferson Marching band since the 2001 and 2002 seasons as a visual technician focused on both uniform individual appearance and overall visual general effect. His personal goals are to provide the members with the information and training needed to be successful in this activity and in life. "If you want success in the competitive society we live in you must be willing to go above and beyond the next guy."
Prior to working with the Jefferson High School marching band, Jon has worked as both a visual instructor and a music instructor for Castle High School's and South Spencer High School's summer marching programs.
He has been involved in the marching band and pageantry arts all of his life. His family is full of band directors, musicians and teachers. After his high school career he went on to march with Star of Indiana, a drum and bugle corps out of Bloomington Indiana, during their 1993 summer tour. There he was surrounded by some of the best musicians, arrangers, and dancers in the U.S. Star of Indiana is no longer competing in Drum Corps International competitions, but has evolved into the Tony Award winning "musical" BLAST.
Outside the marching band world, Jon is a Biology teacher at Jefferson High School. He also spends the "off season" outdoors mountain biking, trail running and rock climbing.
